First off: why MACA?

Maca, a root plant, is both an adaptogen and a cruciferous veggie. An adaptogen is a natural substance {vegetable or herb sourced} that helps the body adapt to daily stress. The fact that it is a cruciferous vegetable means that it helps metabolize excess estrogen. Our modern culture promotes estrogen dominance because of excess stress and exposure chemicals that disrupt healthy estrogen metabolism.

Maca is an excellent support for times of extra stress as well as to help balance hormones. <3 You can add it to smoothies, make a Maca Latte {it offers an energy boost without the jitters you can sometimes get from caffeine} or do things like this: make a fat bomb!

  • 1/4 cup coconut oil
  • 2.5 Tbsp nut butter of your choice
  • 1 Tbsp Maca Powder
  • 1.5 Tbsp Collagen {makes sure this is from a grass-fed source!}
  • 1 Tbsp cocoa powder, unsweetened
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • pinch salt
  • your favorite sweetener {I used 1 Tbsp Swerve}

Melt coconut oil & nut butter enough to be able to mix well. Add remaining ingredients and mix well.

Pour “batter” into silicone mold & refrigerate for 1 hour or until set.

Your total serving amount will depend upon your silicone mold; mine yielded 6.
