The feet part of running

The shoes matter…let me tell ya. I never used to care that much about the quality of my running shoes….plus I am a bargain hunter. However, when it comes to my running shoes I will invest a little more now that I know better. It’s not necessary to blow your budget, though. That’s the good news.

  
I recently went to RoadRunner Sports in Tualitin to get a very overdue pair of shoes (it had been 1.5 years since my last new pair ๐Ÿ˜– poor feet). It’s well worth the visit because they will observe your stride, foot placement, ask about any issues, take an impression of your feet to check arch…these things matter!! That service is free and really helps determine YOUR specific needs. WELL worth the trip I’m tellin’ ya!

So my favorite are New Balance (the pretty blue shoes I’ve posted pics of). Today I decided to wear some others that are comfy but are just some I have to wear at work and hike in. I did not pay attention to what my needs were when I bought them. They were cheap, cute and comfortable. Welllllll, I ran in them today and probably will not do that again. My feet feel it. 

MORAL OF THE STORY: your feet matter! They carry your WHOLE BODY around every day! Holy cowzers! Then add to that the impact of pounding on the pavement or trails as you run. If your feet are having problems I can assure you your knees will feel it and then your back and quite possibly your hips. 

So. Invest in some decent shoes and you won’t have to invest in a bunch of medical bills for your aching, breaking body.
